This is my go-to summer snack for when I'm craving something savory. It's satisfying, quick to prepare, and requires no cooking. This is definitely something easy enough for a child to make as an after school snack.

Ingredients

Plain yogurt

salsa

cheddar cheese

lettuce, chopped into fine pieces

chips for eating

Directions

Firstly, I'm sure you noticed that this recipe doesn't include amounts. This is all about the feel of the dish. I measure by spoons and hands for this one. In a bowl, I place two spoonfuls of yogurt in the bowl. I add a handful of shredded cheddar cheese, and a hefty spoonful of salsa. Stir to combine. Lastly, add the lettuce and mix together. Enjoy with chips.

I really like this snack that satisfies me like a meal. It's pretty well balanced from the protein in the yogurt, and the crunch from the lettuce and chips. It's one of those things that I've tried to make more complicated with avocado or jalapeño, but there is something enjoyable in this dish's simplicity.

Would you try this? Would you add anything?
