My Philosophy on Food
Hi! Welcome to my blog Deliciously Nutritious. Food is an important part of my life. It is my creative outlet, and the way that I express my love for those in my life. These principles influence my cooking style and food choices. I am refining and evolving this philosophy. I am open to trying new things and allowing my opinions to change, but these principles have remained valid over the years.
1. Food is medicine. Treat your food with respect. You are either feeding your health or your disease. Your job is figure out what works well for you. You are the expert on you, not your doctor.
2. Avoid wasting food. Food is life giving. It should be treated with respect.
3. Buy whole, local, organic foods whenever possible. Avoid overly processed food that your grandparents wouldn't recognize. Most food in the grocery store is inflammation inducing garbage that has been engineered to taste better than it actually is.
4. Plan, but be flexible. The 80/20 rule is key to living a balanced
life that allows you to enjoy a family BBQ and still stay on track to achieve
your health goals.
5. Cook once eat a few times. Leftovers can be made into multiple dishes with some imagination and a few ingredients.
That's where I come into the picture. I love taking what is and transforming it into what it could be. If you are looking for easy and versatile recipes, then you've come to the right place because I know when it's done correctly nutritious food is delicious.
